Tom Zinteck sizzles with 35 in Week 5 Action
Tommy Zinteck grabbed the Medalist spotlight as he and partner Denny Wes skunked Eddie Z & the Mixer. Todd Hummel & rookie Patrick Smith had even par 36's as the League's 2nd week of play in 5 tries came off on Monday May 23rd. Joe Choboy made a triumphant return to the League as he & Woodsy toppled partnerless Jimmy DiPalma 3-1. The King Brothers cruised over Tony & Curtie 3-1. Ditto for Matty & Kurt over the Red Warriors. Andy and floater Dave Bielski swamped Moose & Brett for all four to post the only 8 point team. MVP Dad Frank Sumi & floater Doug Olewnick got all but a half from an inept Paul Bones & Swi. Mike Kwarciany & Todd O'Bryan got all but a half from the Booze Brothers Snake & Tuba. John & Lip both had 41's to take all four from Darryl & Marky. Merle & Patrick the kid blanked Father and son Washy's. Todd & Mikey got a 3-1 win over Zin & Keeky. Mixie had the most swats with 58 including a 17 on one hole that his opponent Denny Wes mercy-ruled to a 10. We are off next week for Memorial Day. Have a safe and Happy holiday.

Finally we play on May 9th
The League's 34th season finally started although the course is in rough shape after all the rain we've had. Many men had not so good scores, rusty swings and no roll are the main culprits. Coach Todd had the days best score with a 39. Newcomer Jim Manno swatted out 60 times to capture the highest score. There were only 4 Birdies on the day...Defending champs Andy & Phil started up right where they left off by mauling the Red Warriors for all 4, although Ken & Hopps both got in on the 50/50 for $40 each....Tuba also won $40 in Washy's split club and he & Snake got the better of Keek & Zinni for 2-1/2 points...Matty & Fingers skunked Tails & Marky Milek for all 4...Course Supervisor Christman had a 40 as he & Swi took 3 from Cabes & Jimmy D...Dave Washy & Matty Bones got all but a half from Frank and the Boomer...Brett Whitehead make a successful debut although his opponent Jim Manno did not offer much resistance with an ugly debut of his own as a fill-in for the Sammy-Merle team...you can fill in zero points for them  thanks to Jimmy....Mike Kwarciany was partnerless but still managed a split against Curtie Reed and floater extraordinare Dave Bielski. The Mixie & Ed show gathered 3-1/2 points vs. Jimmy King & Dotts....Chris Banas made his last two holes count to gain the Woodsy team 1 point but Derek the kid stormed out with a birdie on #1 shot 41 to take 3 points with Tommy Zinteck.....John Kennis and floater Doug Olewnick got 3 from Grubby & Todd and that's all we have until next week...Thanks for putting the cards in the box at Deerwood, it sure makes the Secretary's job a little easier when we don't have to chase guys down for their cards...

Week 2 Cancelled
The Rules Committee has ruled ! Course conditions are just too soggy and with more rain in the forecast, they decided to pull the plug. See you next week, maybe. This has to be the first time in the league's long existence that we ever cancelled 2 weeks in a row.....
